Grateful for:
- Getting a ride to the airport.
- After resisting any kind of sex education for my whole life, believing it will get me out of my body and into my head, totally cramp my style and will make me (God forbid!) THINK about what I am doing, I have finally gave in to curiosity and bought myself a book at the airport book store this morning. I am expanding all sorts of horizons lately, it’s awesome.
- Genuinely using the word “awesome” or its derivative in pretty much every sentence I utter.
- For the first time in my life travelling with a friend rather than by myself or a partner. So far its proving an amazing experience.
- Getting picked up from the airport.
- Kicking off the fabulous week in Sydney drinking champaign chilling on the balcony overlooking Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Not only am I blessed with wonderful friends, but also wonderful friends with wonderful houses and incredible generosity and hospitality!
- Paradigm shift #1. Following the good old advice of focusing and visualising not the money, but rather what money can buy and what it means to me, I continuously manage to manifest an incredible lifestyle filled with experiences, people and things many others only dream of… while remaining kind of broke. So it took a glass of champaign and a friend’s advice for me to finally realize that money for money’s sake is NOT evil and can and SHOULD be part of the balanced and abundant lifestyle. Funny things these paradigm shifts, once I have one, I can’t help by think quietly to myself…. “WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING BEFORE??!?!?”
- Two dogs in the house – heaven! Taking both dogs for a nice long walk around the bay.
- I was talking three times on the phone today, and never got a slight unpleasant resistance feeling towards it. OMG EFT I have done on the weekend worked! Thank you The Natural Lifestyles!!
- Opting for a freshly sqeezed juice instead of a coffee at a cafe today after MUCH deliberation. Social conditioning and penny pinching habits went head-to-head against body wisdom and healthy lifestyle choices. I am happy to admit the second one won! Now, I know a battle won is not the war won but it is one of many little steps towards greater personal freedom of choice. Doing the victory dance!..
- Playing mario cart on Wii. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!..
- I love being really impressed and blown away by people with incredible passion, enthusiasm and ideas. I had a pleasure of reconnecting with yet another such a person today.
- Having a third antipasto platter in less than 7 days! Or even forth, if one considers Japanese sashimi their version of antipasto. I say – do away with normal dishes and let antipasto reign supreme! If the theory that we can only really appreciate the first couple of bites of every dish and after that whether you have another 5 or 50 bites of it, the amount of pleasure experienced is actually more or less the same, then antipasto is the ultimate indulgence because I can experiment and create a DIFFERENT taste sensation out of EVERY single bite by cleverly combining and stacking the ingredients. LifeIsAnArtForm Food Theory 101.
- For the first time in my life tasting a wine and actually going “OMG this is SO good, I am getting myself a glass”. Drumroll please……. Tempranillo 2008 bodegas salvador poveda ‘toscar’ from Alicante, Spain.
- Bathing in conversation all evening so enthusiastically (and I mean not just soaking, but playing and splashing in it) that the waiter could not help but comment upon our departure “I am glad you guys got to talk!” :)
- Stacking paradigm shifts.
- Visiting an amazing night time lookout showcasing city lights, Harbour Bridge and Opera House like in a post card. Best possible location for another hour of talking of which we took full advantage.
- Doing some actual coding work upon my return home for the first time in weeks. A bit rusty but I still got it! Notepad coding ftw. Oh and doing the task in 2.5 hours after being quoted 38 (38!!! seriously!) hours by someone else for the same job. Yep, I well and truly still got it and can flip it out and use it any time I want to.
- Shamelessly showing off “look at me and my amazing life!” pics on Facebook. Plenty more to come of course :)
- After living in Sydney for 6 years being totally surprise by a complete lack of any nostalgic feelings or reminiscences. I feel absolutely nothing here… plus I have to admit it, I turned into SUCH a Melbourne snob! It’s hilarious.
- Um yeah, and THAT was only day 1 of the grand Sydney adventure. I think I should just forget sleeping for the week and catch up on that when I am back in Melbourne. Damn you, passionate people-centred lifestyle! Constantly choosing between lots of fun things to do is not as easy as it seems, especially in sleep deprivation mode.
