Cafe getaway

Grateful for:

  1. Being back on my bike after 1 week break. The sharpest physical experience of flow, mine to indulge in several times a day.
  2. Enjoying riding in the rain. Wacky, I know, but lately I am finding myself enjoying all sorts of things that would normally be classified as “negative”: sad emotions, public transport, work (?!)
  3. Getting stuck in heavy rain in St. Kilda. What could I do except for go for a coffee… and stay at the cafe all day! Read some books, wrote about me for the blog, a poem inspired by my experience and lots of yummy quotes. It is all still very strange to contemplate taking my blog public beyond a close circle of family and friends but writing it for 2 years and still going strong, it is time to give it wings.
  4. Delving into a huge new world of social networking. What, you mean I can actually meet like minded people and have engaging conversations that way and not keep in touch with those I met in real world?!.. What a novel idea…
  5. In the process of writing the poem I had another BFO in regards to what is so appealing about travelling: I don’t know why and how it happens, but if one stays at the same spot for a few months and acquires a semblance of a home, then somehow straight away life gets engulfed but little to-do’s and various chores and requirements. And when one travels for short of even long periods of time, none of those are present in the daily schedule. I have just stumbled upon this fact so have not thought about it sufficiently to figure out the mysterious force behind it, but it certainly is present. I seemingly can not relax at home as there are always things that need to be done so I have to escape to be able to sit still.
  6. Shopping for some fruit at South Melbourne Markets.
  7. Due to my increasing intolerance to tap water I finally decided to buy a filter and am now  a proud owner of Water Man – my new best friend. Not only the water gets filtered but also alkalised and mineralized and the whole thing is portable. And it works too, instead of having to force and remind myself of drinking all the time, I consumed at least 3 litres in half a day quite naturally, the body knows by itself what is good for you and what isn’t.
  8. Soaking in the bath for hours processing all sorts of stuff. Feeling extra rejuvenated now.
  9. Distinct awareness of 2 opposing strongly held beliefs keeping me somewhat stuck at the moment: zen minimalist outlook of detaching from desires and concentrating on intangible pleasures of life and creative manfestor aiding in expansion of the universe by launching desires left right and centre and going after them. At the moment they feel like polar opposites thus keeping me stuck between them, I either need to choose one or think laterally and see how they can both integrate into a single mindset free from internal conflict.
  10. Having a bizarre conviction that there would be people out there who would want to read about my life in such detail.
