Arrived in Vang Vieng on the 1st and have been chilling doing not much at all so far. Reading some books, drinking happy shakes, so far resisting the urge to watch Friends and Simpsons on offer in all restaurants. Vang Vieng is like a piece of western backpacker world in the middle of Laos, which is a first experience of it’s kind for me – young travellers everywhere and the town seems to have more tourists in it then the local population. Since we haven’t done any of the local activities yet there is not much else to say, but the weather has been nice, the scenery is breathtaking and we have finally found a guest house with free wifi so we’ll stick around for a while.
