Caves of Vang Vieng

Did a tour of most famous caves of Vang Vieng today, it was quite a different experience from the others so far since we had to walk through the rice paddies among the mountains following a small footpath to first find the caves site. Once found, the caves proved to be a wondrous spot with buddhas and no lights inside whatsoever except for our puny flashlight. At one point having walked 5 minutes into the cave we turned of the flashlight to experience absolute and complete silence and darkness.

We then ran into another traveller in the middle of that cave (as you do) and he said that another 20 minutes into the cave there is a waterfall and a swimming whole. I didn’t want to bother going through muddy cave so I went back and read a book outside while Will went ahead and explored the cave with the other travellers. Everyone got what they wanted and it all made for a wonderful day outside in the nature exploring and admiring the scenery.
