Sure did not take us long to get into the spirit of Laos and basically do nothing all day. Today I spent half a day online and another half of the day in a coffee shop brainstorming as we usually do the ideas for the bookstore.
One lovely thing about Vientiane is their riverfront which has been transformed by local entrepreneurial families into one long outdoor cafe strip. Port Vila could so do with an arrangement like this. Lovely lanterns, Christmas lights, low Japanese style mat seating and sweeping river views. The food experience ranged from excellent to rather average so it is hit and miss, but the setting and ambience are unforgettable.
