Worked all day and at night we went to one of the unique local attractions: Hanoi Water Puppet Theatre.
Since we arrived an hour early it gave us a chance to walk around the night city a little bit and check out the “hidden” cafe – you have to walk through a small shop almost a block away from the actual cafe and then through a small inside courtyard tunnel and you a greeted with a 4 storey terrace each floor occupied by tables and chairs and with an amazing panoramic view of the city’s main lake.
Truly a unique experience where the puppets move on the surface of the water and the actors moving them are hidden behind the curtain and stand up to their waste in water. This is accompanied by traditional Vietnamese songs and instrument orchestra.
Some of the puppet dances were fun and definitely worth a visit just to witness one of the unique arts in the world but got a bit boring towards the end, still in all a fun night out.
